The Inaugural Space Economy Conference
Professional Track

Professional Track

The Professional Track creates opportunities for researchers to engage directly with industry professionals and practitioners working across the Space Economy.

Participants will have opportunities to

Participate in dedicated sessions with industry professionals
Join a “speed dating” lunch bringing practitioners and academics together
Engage in parallel industry-facing activities
Participate in the Shark Tank Finale, where venture capital investors and leading academics will evaluate selected pitches and provide exposure to investors.

Challenge & Solution Proposal

In the first stage, please submit a proposal abstract of no more than 500 words that identifies a specific managerial or organisational challenge in the space sector and presents a distinctive solution or approach to addressing it. The solution may already have been implemented or may be a well-developed proposal, but it should address a concrete real-world problem and demonstrate clear practical relevance.

Submissions may address challenges faced by space start-ups, established firms or primes, public agencies, policymakers, or other organisations in the space ecosystem. Solutions may involve, for example, strategy, organisation, business models, operations, governance, procurement, regulation, policy, technology management, partnerships, or other forms of managerial intervention, whether within an organisation or across the wider ecosystem.

The abstract should clearly describe (1) the challenge, (2) why it matters, (3) the proposed or implemented solution, and (4) what makes the approach distinctive and potentially valuable to others. Authors of selected proposals will subsequently be invited to submit a slide deck for presentation at the conference.

From Submission to Publication

It is our intention to develop proposals for special issues in major FT50 and or industry- /policy-facing outlets journals by the time of the conference.
