The evening before the Space Economy PDW at AOM 2026, we hosted an informal Space Drinks Meetup in Philadelphia.
The gathering brought together researchers, PDW contributors, roundtable facilitators, space economy enthusiasts, colleagues, and friends for an evening of conversation and community-building before the formal PDW program.
The purpose of Space Drinks was simple: to create a relaxed setting where people interested in the Space Economy could meet, reconnect, and begin conversations ahead of the PDW.
Bringing the community together before the PDW
The Space Economy research community is not only built through panels, keynotes, and formal sessions. It is also built through informal conversations, new introductions, and shared curiosity.
The Space Drinks Meetup helped create that space. It offered participants an opportunity to connect before the PDW, exchange ideas, meet fellow researchers and practitioners, and begin shaping conversations around the future of management research in the Space Economy.
